Description
Stainless steel shafting is precision-ground round stainless bar made to close diameter tolerances for use as machine shafts, linear-motion rods and rotating components. Where ordinary round bar is a general fabrication stock, shafting is finished to the accuracy that bearings, bushings and couplings require — a shaft that is even slightly out of tolerance will not run true. The stainless grade adds corrosion resistance for wet, food or marine machinery.
Stainless shafting is supplied in a range of precise diameters in standard lengths, in corrosion-resistant grades. Because it is a precision product, the diameter tolerance and grade are what matter for the application. See the specifications below for available diameters and grades.
