Description
Aluminum flat bar is rectangular-section aluminium stock, chosen where light weight, corrosion resistance and easy machining outweigh the need for steel's strength — trims, frames, brackets, signage, marine fittings and architectural details. Aluminium is roughly a third the weight of steel and does not rust, so it excels in transport, coastal and decorative work. It cuts and machines cleanly and takes anodising and finishes well.
Aluminium flat bar is supplied in a range of widths and thicknesses in standard lengths, in common alloy grades. Alloy selection affects strength and finish, so heavier structural use and decorative trim may call for different grades. See the specifications below for sizes and grades.
