Description
Black iron expanded metal is mild-steel sheet slit and stretched into a rigid diamond mesh, an economical, strong and lightweight material for walkways, security grilles, guards, screens, fencing and reinforcement. Because it is made from one sheet with no welded joints, it is stronger and more rigid than woven wire for its weight, and it takes paint or galvanizing for outdoor use. It is a fabricator's staple for grilles, gates and platforms.
