Description

The hot-dip galvanized (HDG) hexagonal bolt carries a thick, metallurgically bonded zinc coating for maximum corrosion protection in the harshest outdoor and coastal conditions. Hot-dip galvanizing applies far more zinc than ordinary plating, giving decades of rust resistance — which is why HDG bolts are specified for bridges, transmission towers, marine structures and any long-life exposed steelwork. The heavier coating is the whole point where a fastener must survive years in the weather.
HDG hex bolts are supplied in a range of diameters and lengths with matching hot-dip galvanized nuts, which are usually tapped oversize to fit over the zinc coating.
