Deformed bar sizes and weights.
Reinforcing steel bars to PNS 49 (ASTM A615 equivalent), 10mm to 36mm, in Grade 33, 40 and 60. Standard 6.0m lengths; 7.5m, 9.0m, 10.5m and 12.0m by order. Unit weight follows the standard nominal mass: kg/m = diameter² ÷ 162.
Sizes and weights
PNS 49 / ASTM A615 — nominal unit mass (kg/m = d² ÷ 162)
| Diameter (mm) | kg/m | kg per 6.0 m | kg per 7.5 m | kg per 9.0 m | kg per 10.5 m | kg per 12.0 m |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 10 | 0.617 | 3.7 | 4.63 | 5.55 | 6.48 | 7.4 |
| 12 | 0.888 | 5.33 | 6.66 | 7.99 | 9.32 | 10.66 |
| 16 | 1.578 | 9.47 | 11.84 | 14.2 | 16.57 | 18.94 |
| 20 | 2.466 | 14.8 | 18.5 | 22.19 | 25.89 | 29.59 |
| 25 | 3.853 | 23.12 | 28.9 | 34.68 | 40.46 | 46.24 |
| 28 | 4.834 | 29 | 36.26 | 43.51 | 50.76 | 58.01 |
| 32 | 6.313 | 37.88 | 47.35 | 56.82 | 66.29 | 75.76 |
| 36 | 7.99 | 47.94 | 59.93 | 71.91 | 83.9 | 95.88 |
PNS 49 allows ±6% mass variation on a single bar, so a delivered piece can run slightly under nominal weight.
Grades
- Grade 33 (PNS 230) — stirrups, ties, temperature bars; usually 10–12mm.
- Grade 40 (PNS 275) — the common grade for 1–2 storey residential; mainly 10–16mm.
- Grade 60 (PNS 415) — columns and beams of multi-storey and infrastructure work; 20mm and up is normally supplied as Grade 60.
How it's sold
Hardware retail sells rebar per length (6.0m standard). Wholesale and project orders are priced per kilogram. Steel moves week to week — send your bar list and we quote today’s price, same day. Send your list — spec sheet, drawing or BOQ — and we quote it back the same day.
Common questions
Is rebar priced per kilo or per length in the Philippines?
Retail hardware sells rebar per piece (standard 6.0m length). Wholesale and project pricing is per kilogram. The table above converts between the two — kg/m is roughly diameter² ÷ 162.
What rebar grade for a 2-storey house?
Grade 40 (275 MPa) is the common minimum for typical 1–2 storey homes; many engineers specify Grade 60 (415 MPa) for columns and critical members. Follow the structural design.
How do I compute rebar weight quickly?
kg/m ≈ diameter² ÷ 162. A 16mm bar is 16 × 16 ÷ 162 = 1.58 kg/m, so a 6m length weighs about 9.5 kg.
What lengths are available?
6.0m is standard stock. 7.5m, 9.0m, 10.5m and 12.0m are supplied by order for larger projects.
