When the snib is in its down position, the bolt is locked inside the lock case. The lock case works with the 4662 striker plate.
SFS 5209 Snib Position: • UP = Deadlocking, when the door is closed. The lock can be opened with a key or a thumbturn. • DOWN = Hookbolt is retained inside the lock case.
